Recipe Information:

  • Makes 16-20 servings

  • Preparation time: 10 minutes

  • Total time: 12 hr 10 mins

Ingredients:

Recipe:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  2. In a separate elecrtric mixing bowl fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the cocoa powder, granulated sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix on medium speed until smooth.

  3. Gradually add the flour mixture into the mixing bowl, mixing on low speed until no dry spots remain.

  4. Mix heath bits into the dough until well incorporated. The dough will be on the thinner side, a little bit soupier than typical cookie dough!

  5. Cover the dough and place in the refrigerator overnight. Can chill for as little as 4 hours, or up to 2 days!

  6. When you are ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  7. Scoop and shape dough balls ~3 inches wide. Place the balls onto the prepared baking sheet about 3 inches apart from each other, slightly flattening each cookie.

  8. Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes, until cracks appear and the edges appear dry. The middle should look a bit underdone, it will set once out of the oven!

  9. Remove the cookies from heat and allow to set on the baking sheet for 10-20 minutes.

  10. Sprinkle each cookie with Maldon Salt and enjoy!
